Five Reasons to Download Minecraft
August 4, 2011
Minecraft. Maybe you’ve heard of it? If you have and relish it as I do, I salute you.
If you haven’t or maybe you’re just wondering what all the buzz is about, I’m hoping this little post will shed some light on what’s possibly the biggest indie success of all time.
Before I get started, I’ll cover just a little bit about what Minecraft is.
When to Buy a Used Xbox
July 26, 2011
Several of the most popular posts on this site deals with correcting various problems gamers encounter with their Xbox. If you’re handy, you may have fixed your Xbox yourself (that’s great!), but many people would rather not deal with the hassle. Of course, that’s not the only reason why you’d be in the market for an Xbox, so let’s take a look at why you may want to consider buying a used Xbox.
Where To Order Online Flowers for Valentine’s Day
February 4, 2010
Let me give you two words of advice:
1. Don’t get married.
2. If you ignored #1, don’t get your wife roses for Valentine’s Day.
Now, please let me explain. Both of my points here are a joke (kinda…mostly). However, there is a reason behind #2. If you buy flowers for your spouse or girlfriend one year for Valentine’s Day, then she will expect them the following year (or something of greater emotional value or importance). Even if you both “mutually agree” beforehand that flowers aren’t necessary, she will expect them.
So, I’ll assume that since you’re reading this article then you’ve ignored my advice. I know what you must be going through at this point; you’re worried that you’re a horrible husband/boyfriend and you’re scrambling to find the best place to order flowers.
Rest easy, because I’ve done the legwork for you. After nearly 5 years of marriage I’ve tried a variety of different flower shops and florists and I will now rank the top 3. Each flower shop is judged on the quality of the flowers and of course the general level of excitement of my wife.

What to do with your Broken Xbox 360
April 1, 2009
Over the past few months I’ve written about my Xbox 360. I first wrote about how the Unreadable Disc Error popped up, and later how I fixed the error on my 360. It was a long, frustrating road. However, since I spent I lot of time with my Xbox while it wasn’t working at 100% capacity, I learned to enjoy it in many other ways.
I know we all love to hate Microsoft, but there really are many different ways to enjoy your Xbox 360. Of course, the most obvious way is to play those wonderful, $60 discs of gaming joy. But there’s so much more you can do, even with a busted DVD drive.
How to Fix the Unreadable Disc Error – Xbox 360
March 18, 2009
A few months ago, I wrote about my disgust with Microsoft because of an unreadable disc error on my Xbox 360. The error, I discovered, was due to a busted DVD drive. Microsoft wanted $100 to repair my Xbox, and I came really close to just paying the fee and sending it in. Guys, I’m really glad I decided to take a look at it myself. The repair was so simple that I had my Xbox up and running in about thirty minutes.
There are tons of really good tutorials and videos on the web that explain how to disassemble your Xbox, so I’m not going to break things down to that level. It’s my hope that approaching the problem from a broad overview will remove some of the fear and uncertainty that surrounds cracking your Xbox 360 open. If you’re not yet ready to repair your DVD drive, check out the different ways you can use your broken Xbox 360. Read more
DIY Safe and Easy Way to Preserve Child Footprints
February 26, 2009
This past Sunday, the kind ladies who run the nursery at my church asked us to bring our 4-month old child to get his handprint and footprint for the bulletin board. When we walked in the nursery, I saw a paper plate on the table holding a pool of blue liquid next to a sheet of construction paper.
I watched in mild horror as the ladies dipped my son’s hand in the blue liquid paint and attempt to press his hand flat against the construction paper. Only, my son closed his hand to make a fist. They had to pry his fingers open and feebly press down on the paper while he screamed and struggled to get away.
Afterwards, it looked like someone had spit a mouthful of blue paint onto the paper. It barely resembled a handprint at all. And even after the kind ladies scrubbed on my child’s hands to get the remnants of the paint off, there was still a slight hint of blue on his hand all day long.
I figured there had to be a better, easier way to get a handprint and footprint of a child. Here is what I’ve come up with.
Amazon Kindle Review and Tips
January 6, 2009
Judging by the fact that the Amazon Kindle was sold out for awhile after Christmas (and still is at the time of writing), I wasn’t the only one who was pleasantly surprised to find one under the tree. I’ve always been interested in this device, but due to the high cost ($359) and the fact that have little time to read, I decided that it wasn’t the most economical purchase. Thankfully, my family knows my weakness for cool electronic devices and got one for me.
As soon as I opened the Kindle, I was immediately pelted with spitballs questions about the features and functionality of the device. Let’s address some of those questions first, and then talk about some of the lesser-known advanced features. Read more

Here are a few of the hottest gadgets of the year (in no particular order) that won’t break the bank, and will definitely earn you some cool points with your geek friends and family members.
Be Prepared – Food Storage Economics Part 3
November 28, 2008
In PART 1 I talked about some good reasons to set aside a little extra food and water. Looking back on it I think I forgot one more good reason. I may have thought “No, this can’t happen here in the United States” so I didn’t consider it. But looking at the way the economy has failed in the last 8 weeks, and seeing our government’s solution to it, this could be a real possibility towards the end of next year.
Uncontrolled INFLATION! That’s right, the cost of goods could dramatically increase from DAY TO DAY. Meaning the cash you have becomes less and less valuable the longer you hold it.
